Kalyani is married into an aristocratic family. Bhuban Mohan Choudhury is unhappy because his daughter-in-law, Kalyani, has dark skin and is illiterate. Despite this, Kalyani becomes the heart of the family. Over time, Bhuban undergoes a transformation as he witnesses how lovingly Kalyani takes care of everyone in the household.
