Acting
Georgiana Young
*1923 in Los Angeles, California, USA

Georgiana Young was born on September 30, 1923 in Los Angeles, California, USA as Georgiana Belzer. She was an actress, known for The Story of Alexander Graham Bell (1939), Border Incident (1949) and No, No, Nanette (1940). She was married to Ricardo Montalban. She died on November 13, 2007 in Los Angeles. Billed as Georgiana Young, she spent three years under contract to David O. Selznick and was screen-tested for the role of Suellen, Scarlet O'Hara's younger sister, in Gone with the Wind (1939). She lost the part to Evelyn Keyes because, even at the young age of 14, she stood taller than Vivien Leigh. Had a career as a professional model until she retired for marriage to Ricardo Montalban, whom she met through her sister Sally Blane and her director/husband Norman Foster. It seems Montalban was being directed in a Mexican film by Foster and happened to catch Georgiana in her only movie and was smitten. Another story, according to Loretta Young's authorized biography, "Forever Young", by Joan Wester Anderson, states that her first saw her on a magazine cover, as well as in the aforementioned movie, in his native Mexico, and vowed he would marry no one else. He reluctantly went out on a blind date with her sometime later, and was pleasantly surprised to find she was his dream girl. Had four children with Ricardo Montalban. Sons: Victor Montalban, Mark Montalban (b. 1947); Daughters: Laura Montalban (clothing designer, b. 1949) and Anita Montalban (b. 1952). Half-sister of actresses Loretta Young, Sally Blane, and Polly Ann Young.
