Alexis Vogel was the daughter of legendary nude photographer Ron Vogel and his wife Audry Pomerantz. Alexis grew up around her father's photography studio, and naturally wanted to play a part, which led her to working as a hair and makeup artist for her father's studio. When Ron began working in the adult film industry in the 1970s - as a still photographer and later as an art and set designer, lighting director, and occasional cinematographer - Alexis came along and provided hair and makeup for those projects and soon many others. By the mid-80s, Alexis began working on Hollywood projects, making a name for herself, and was soon requested by name by a number of celebrities. She worked with Pamela Anderson, Sharon Stone, Denzel Washington, Carmen Electra, Kelly Clarkson, and many others, and was especially close with Anderson. Along with her makeup career, her other major passion in life was horses. Alexis started riding at 9, and won her first United States national bareback-riding championship competition at age 12, the first of over 200 other horsemanship titles. She taught riding for a time, with many of her students having won championships. Vogel was diagnosed with breast cancer, and passed away on April 15, 2019 in Aliso Viejo, California - the same year as her father Ron Vogel died. Pamela Anderson has stated in a number of interviews that the loss of Alexis was a big factor in her decision to stop wearing makeup - she didn't think anyone else measured up to Vogel and thus would rather go without.
