I was born and raised in Tennessee, where every old house, every back road, and every holler holds a story. Folklore was never distant - it lived in the way that grandparents told stories on porches and the silence of forgotten places. Sloth Cinema is an extension of that upbringing: folklore unearthed, retold, and reframed through the lens of hauntingly beautiful cinema. While my films draw on German Expressionism and old European arthouse cinema for form, their heartbeat is Southern Gothic and Folk Horror - American hauntings, liminal characters, and landscapes where history presses against the present. To me, cinema is a ritual, and Tennessee is where that ritual began.
